Congratulations on taking the critical step to have your genetics tested! This decision can provide valuable insights into your health, helping to create personalized prevention strategies and customized treatment options for a healthier future.
Sonatix Wellness offers a competitive cash-pay option for interested clients, as most insurance companies do not cover genetic testing. If you are interested in a follow-up consultation to discuss your results, your insurance will typically cover this appointment.
Please call Sonatix Wellness at 801-893-6399 to schedule an initial appointment.
Cash-Pay Genetics Test
Initial Appointment: The initial appointment is 15 minutes long. The provider will swab the cheeks at this appointment and answer any introductory questions. Please abstain from eating or drinking for 30 minutes before the swabbing to maintain as much genetic data as possible.
Cost: The genetics test and swab cost $350. Please note that payment is due at the time of swabbing. If this amount is a significant financial burden, we are happy to implement a monthly payment plan so you can still complete the tests.
If you want to discuss a payment plan, please inform the office manager when you call to schedule your appointment.
Results: After the swabbing, we will send your test to Self Decode, the company that processes it. Depending on demand, results can take 6-8 weeks.
Upon receipt of your genetic results, we will aggregate the data and send you results via email.
Results Consultation
If you would like to discuss your results, we will schedule a consultation with a provider. At that point, we will email you the Sonatix Wellness intake forms to complete and schedule an appointment once they are submitted.
The follow-up appointment typically takes one hour and is usually covered by insurance.
Benefits of a Genetics Results Consultation
Scheduling a consultation to discuss your genetic testing results allows you to better understand potential health risks and predispositions that may affect you and your family. Based on your genetic makeup, a provider can recommend targeted medications and personalized supplement regimens that are more likely to be effective, optimizing treatment outcomes. Furthermore, the consultation allows you to explore specific lifestyle changes, preventive measures, and mental health support tailored to your genetic insights, empowering you to make informed decisions about your health.
