Meet Michael Hickman, our newest Family Nurse Practitioner at Sonatix Wellness. With an impressive 16 years in nursing, including 12 in the mental health field, Michael has distinguished himself as a mover and shaker in the field.

Michael earned his Master’s in Nursing at the University of South Alabama, specializing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He is a dedicated therapist who prioritizes compassion and patient attention.

As a Qualified Medical Provider (QMP), Michael understands the importance of considering all approaches to wellness. He believes heavily in finding therapeutic benefits in alternative and holistic treatment options, which contribute to whole-body treatment plans and improve a patient’s quality of life.

As an Enneagram Type 8, Michael is inherently confident, decisive, and steadfast in adversity. Often referred to as “The Protector,” the Enneagram 8 type aptly describes Michael’s approach in both personal and professional capacities.

He advocates for his patients and tackles the complexities of healthcare challenges, earning him a reputation for working hard until the job is done.

Michael’s dedication extends to his home life, and he considers himself a family-focused man. He can be found two-stepping in the kitchen, thumbing through new recipes, and whipping up new bake sale treats. He values his time with those he loves and is the mastermind behind detailed and unique family vacations. His enthusiasm extends to sports and athletics: He bleeds the orange and blue of Auburn University and may greet you with Auburn’s classic “War Eagle” battle cry.
